Honey Tangerine Fizz

December 28, 2015 By Lokness 6 Comments

Honey Tangerine Fizz is the bubbly mocktail for the citrus season! Add a little bit of gin or vodka to make an alcoholic drink!

Honey Tangerine Fizz 1| The Missing Lokness

Any plan for New Year eve? Bryan and I don’t really like traffic, huge crowd and road blocks. Therefore, counting down somewhere on the street or at a restaurant isn’t exactly our kind of things. We are likely going to stay put and enjoy a quiet night at our warm and cozy home. Let’s hope I wouldn’t fall asleep on the couch by 11pm! Finger crossing… 😛

Even though we will be celebrating at home, it doesn’t mean that it has to be boring. We are probably going to watch a movie or play some video games. Most importantly, we can cheer to the new year with this sweet and refreshing mocktail (or cocktail)! The citrus season has arrived, the tangerines, mandarins and clementines are all very sweet, cheap and easy to find. With a little honey and lemon juice, this seasonal and bubbly drink is your best way to start the year!

Happy 2016! Wishing you all a wonderful new year ahead!

Author Lokness

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup fresh tangerine juice (strained) (about 7 – 8 tangerines)
  • ½ tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2½ tablespoons honey
  • ¾ cup San Pellegrino Sparkling Beverage, Limonata (lemon)
  • 1½ ounces Gin or Vodka (optional)
  • 10 - 12 ice cubes
  • 4 raspberries (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a pitcher or large measuring cup, combine the tangerine juice, lemon juice and honey. Stir until the honey has dissolved. Pour in the sparkling beverage. If using alcohol, add it right now. Stir gently.
  • In 2 serving glasses, add 5 – 6 ice cubes in each cup. Pour in the fizz. Garnish each drink with 2 raspberries. Serve immediately.

Notes

  1. You can use mandarins or clementines as well.
  2. If you can’t find San Pellegrino Sparkling Beverage, use lemon sparkling water or club soda. Taste and adjust the amount of lemon juice and honey.

I love your beautiful drinks. I want to pick this one right up and guzzle it! : ) Hope you have a wonderful New Year. We will be relaxing at home, too.
PS – I made your egg tarts again this weekend for my in-laws who came over for the day to visit. They loved it! : ) Need to make another batch so I can have a taste because they took the leftovers home.

The food in the picture is sweet glutinous rice dumplings w/ black sesame 落湯糍(糯米糍). The word “糍” sounds similar to “錢”, so the dumplings represent money. Eating them will bring you lots of wealth!

The dumplings are chewy & gooey like mochi. Coated in black sesame seeds. Right before eating, dip them in sugar. Perfect sweet treat for the new year!

We just can’t get enough of @somisomiicecream! T We just can’t get enough of @somisomiicecream! Their soft serve is creamy, yet not too sweet. Lots of choices too, like ube, matcha, black sesame etc. The taiyaki is crispy on the outside & filled w/ goodness, like Nutella, red bean & custard. My only wish is that they open a store in the San Gabriel Valley, so we don’t have to travel far every time!😆

2022 is coming to an end! It has been a much bette 2022 is coming to an end! It has been a much better year for me personally. We traveled a bit more (Denver, Monterey, Maine, & Boston) & ate lots of incredible food. I’m drooling just thinking about some of the food. Also, my parents flew in from HK. We finally got to see each other after 3 years. We spent time together & attended my sister’s wedding. And we all finally got covid. It’s looking like things are getting back to normal. I truly hope it is!

We first tried the sampler, but was most impressed by the galbi ones. We like the pork too, but the jalapeño one was way too spicy for my taste. It actually has half of a jalapeño in it.🔥
