New Addition: Wusthof Knife

April 24, 2013 By Lokness 11 Comments

Have you ever won anything from giveaway, sweepstake or lottery? I haven’t until recent month. Thanks to Homemade Delish giveaway, I won a Wusthof 4.5-inch knife! WOO HOO! I was jumping up and down when I received the email. For a moment, I even thought it was a scam. But I quickly realized that I actually won something. That felt really good!

Last week, I received my knife. It was awesome! Sharp and perfect for cutting small things, like vegetables and sandwiches. I am very happy to get an extra knife, especially I used to only have a chef knife.

Trying out the knife with tomatoes.

This week, I am not posting a recipe. I am actually exploring recipes with tons of Meyer lemons. And yes, Bryan is getting sick of hearing or tasting Meyer lemons. Hahaha… But after this package of Meyer lemons, he won’t have to see them ever again until next year. 🙂

Be sure to check back next week, I have an amazing braised chicken recipe.

Thanks, Lisa. I have never used a Wusthof knife before. It is great. Now, I may think about getting a new chef knife from Wusthof.

Congratulations on your win! That looks really sharp. 😉 Really? How can someone get tired of Meyer Lemons? I always have them on hand and I can never get enough of them. I have turn my Meyer Lemons into Meyer Lemon cakes, Meyer Lemon Macarons, Meyer Lemon Sorbet, etc. They are all good and I posted the recipes on my blog if you’re interested to try them out. 😉 Have fun!

You are so lucky that your in-laws have a meyer lemon tree. If I have a yard one day, I will grow a meyer lemon tree. Sometimes, it is hard to find meyer lemon in stores.
By the way, you really have a lot of meyer lemon recipes on your blog. They all look good, especially the sandwich cookies. However I am running low on meyer lemons now. I think I will have to wait until I can find more. But thanks in advance! 😀

When planning the trip to Denver, I realized Safta When planning the trip to Denver, I realized Safta @eatwithsafta is opened by the same chef who started Shaya in New Orleans. We went to Shaya back in 2019. Fantastic food & very memorable! So we knew we had to go to Safta.

Menu is very similar to Shaya. We ordered a bunch of stuffs & we enjoyed every single thing. That really doesn’t happen often. The food was perfectly balanced. Nothing felt heavy or overwhelming. That braised lamb shank fell off the bone w/ that creamy labneh & sweet pomegranate sauce. The charred cabbage was also phenomenal. Sweet & charred. Semifreddo was just the ending we hope for. Iced cold w/ strong coffee granita & rich chocolate.

We came w/ really high expectations, & we were very happy at the end of the meal. If you’re visiting Denver, do not think twice, you need to eat at Safta!

Being close to nature is the main goal of this Den Being close to nature is the main goal of this Denver trip. We hiked, saw a couple lakes & mountains, & got attacked by tons of mosquitoes. We were exhausted from the high altitude, heat & hiking, but felt amazing!

1) Hallet Peak & Dream Lake at the Rocky Mountain
2) Selfie
3) We got attacked by mosquitoes. Whenever we posed for pictures, the mosquitoes immediately attacked. If you look closely, you can see a mosquito near Bryan’s face. 🦟

It’s Friyay! All I can think about is this bagel It’s Friyay! All I can think about is this bagel from @bagelandslice. Tried this a couple weeks ago. Bagels are not overly chewy, just perfect. Lox was good w/ the scallion cream cheese. We got there early enough that the line was not long. Going back soon! Btw, they also do pizzas too!
