5-Ingredient Oreo Microwave Cake 1 | The Missing Lokness

Microwave mug cake is the dessert that has been going around the food blog world for a little while. I am sure you have heard about it already. But if you haven’t, it is an individual cake that is cooked in the microwave in a mug. I am always curious about it. Who doesn’t want a fast-cooking cake for dessert?

The other day, I ran into this mug cake recipe. Surprisingly, this recipe do not need flour or cake mix. It is only oreo cookies, milk, and baking powder. How is it possible? Making a cake without flour? Anyway, I immediately ran to the supermarket and got the oreo. That night, I spent 10 minutes and made the dessert. The cake rose and the milk evaporated. Magically, the cake is formed and done. It tasted like a rich and chocolatey warm bread pudding. With a scoop of cold vanilla ice cream, it was a very comforting dessert! Bryan and I both really enjoyed it. I know you are probably feeling uncertain about the recipe now. I urge you to try it and you will be surprised with the result!

  2. If you don’t like your dessert too sweet, you can skip the sugar all together.
  3. The cake rises in the microwave, so make sure to use a mug that is big enough and have some extra spaces.
  4. This dessert is too much for 1 person. It is just right for 2 peopleΒ to share.
